Raymond O. DeLancey

Reidsville: Raymond O. “Buddy” DeLancey, Jr., 75, passed away on Thursday, September 4th, 2014 at the Avante Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 8th, 2014 at Reidlawn Cemetery, 1530 Barnes Street, Reidsville, with Rev. Greg Robertson officiating. Mr. DeLancey was the son of the late Raymond O. and Helen McLean DeLancey. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Drew DeLancey Craddock and a brother, Harold Wayne DeLancey. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Buddy was loyal to his family and friends and loved to talk of sports, politics, and of his faith. He is survived by his daughter: Mitzi DeLancey Vernon and husband, Mike of Reidsville; granddaughters: Lindsay and Kaylee Vernon; nephew Steven Craddock and wife, Dawn, and Wayne DeLancey, Jr.; niece, Tammy DeLancey Baynes; and several grand nieces and nephews. There is no formal visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the building fund at Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 7860 NC Hwy 87, Reidsville, NC 27320.
