Lindsay Shives passed away peacefully with his loved ones surrounding him on June 23rd, 2022, in Greensboro, NC.
Raymond Lindsay Shives was born June 5, 1933, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Ruby Lucile Parish Shives and Raymond Mason Shives. He was a graduate of North Fulton High School in Atlanta, Georgia Institute of Technology and Princeton University. He was the husband of the late Sarah Rebecca Smith Shives.
Lindsay, a longtime Harvard resident, was an exceptional architect, devout parishioner at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Clinton, a gifted artist and musician, and a kind soul to all he met. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he was running or training for his next marathon or riding his bike to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis. His family always enjoyed Saturday morning breakfasts of something special he would bake from scratch. He leaves behind not just a wonderful legacy but also many beautiful and purposeful architectural designs from Europe, throughout the US and out to Hawaii. These will always be remembrances to him and his extraordinary talents and gifts.
He is survived by his daughter, Ansley Shives Hadas and her husband, Sean Hadas, grandson Cody Hadas and granddaughter Shelby Hadas, all of Greensboro, NC.
A celebration of Lindsay’s life will be held with the family privately.
