Raymond Stanley

Ruffin- Raymond “Jack” Stanley, Sr., 68, of 203 Williamson Creek Rd., Ruffin, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Jack was born on June 9, 1945, in Rockingham County to the late William Oliver Stanley, Sr. and Lillie Mae Scott Stanley. He was very dedicated to his work. He owned a Volkswagen garage in Reidsville for 25 years. He was also a tobacco farmer and a construction contractor. Jack loved horses and barrel racing. He was a member of the National Barrel Horse Association for many years. He was always very willing to help anyone. He loved his grandkids and was a very devoted father, brother and grandfather. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Stanley. Survivors include his sons, Raymond Stanley, Jr. and wife Jennifer and Diron Clements; two grandchildren, Will and Haley Stanley and two special grandchildren, Riley and Cole Clements; his brother, Doug Stanley and wife Terri; his niece, Kacie Stanley Evans and her daughter, Amy and his nephews, Mike and Bobby Stanley. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
