Reidsville: Rebecca Sue “Becky” Griffin, of Bethany Road and Scottsdale, Arizona, died
peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, March 30
at her home in Scottsdale.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, at new
Lebanon Congregational Christian Church, followed by burial in the church
cemetery and then a reception in the fellowship hall.
Rebecca was born on February 22, 1950, in Reidsville, NC,
to John L. and Pearl P. Griffin. She
taught middle school math, chorus, and coached J.V. basketball at Bethany School. She became a popular stage singer in Greensboro,
NC, Peoria, IL, and Scottsdale,
AZ. After moving to Arizona, she went on to become a successful
Real Estate Broker.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, John L.
Griffin.
She is survived by her loving companion, Wayne Senseman, and
his family of Scottsdale; mother, Pearl
Griffin; sisters, Sylvia Branz (husband Claude), Marcia Jones (husband Doug),
Linda Ryan (husband Bill), Cindy Farmer (husband Keith); nieces and nephews,
Rebecca Branz Clowney (husband Mike), Diane Branz, Kody Jones (wife Lindsay),
Kevin Jones (wife Corinne), David Norman (fiancée-Alison Bakerman), Caroline,
Ariel and Elijah Farmer; and great niece and nephew, Carson Branz and Griffin
Jones.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 5 from 6-8
p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Rebecca Griffin
at 775 Bethany Road.
