Rebekah McCollum Webster passed away on November 4, 2009, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Rebekah is survived by her husband, John Anthony Webster, their two sons, John Everette and Ethan Thomas, and her parents, Lawrence and Elaine McCollum, sisters Laurie E. McCollum, Lela E. McCollum-Lewis, and Robin L. McCollum, and brothers-in-law Charles Tisdale and Paige Lewis. Rebekah was a loving aunt and a favorite of her nieces and nephews India and Truman Tisdale, Claire-Grace, Sophie, and Lucy-Eliza Lewis, and Nicholas Harmon. She was preceded in death by grandparents Truman and Mattie McCollum of Bethany and Herman and Gracie Via of Mayodan, and sister-in-law Julie Webster Harmon.Rebekah was born in 1976 and lived all of her life in Rockingham County, most of it in Bethany on or near the family farm. After her marriage in 1996 she devoted herself to her family. She was a loving person who felt her calling in life was to be a mother, and her greatest joy was her two sons John Everette and Ethan. Rebekah will be remembered by her family and friends for her sense of humor, the support and affection she offered to others, especially to the many children with whom she crossed paths in her life, and the unique ways she found to pay tribute to her family. Whether making videos of her grandmother telling stories, or tracking down an old family dinner bell for her father, Rebekah’s creativity and energy always centered on her loved ones.Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday evening at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday at New Lebanon Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Brenner’s Children’s Hospital.
