Rena Faye Gibson

Rena Faye Gibson, “Faye”, 65 of Reidsville, NC passed away on July 28, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 2, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Brandon Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, August 1st from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Faye was born in Winston Salem, NC on December 22, 1955. She graduated from Jane Adams High School. She worked as a teacher’s assistant for Rockingham County Schools in the EC Department for 20 years. She was known as momma Faye. She loved her students and considered them her children. She enjoyed helping her students participate in Special Olympics. She also enjoyed going to the beach, being a “nannie” to her grandchildren and anything Christmas related.

Faye is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jeffrey Gibson; daughters, Kimberly Wilson, Amanda Gibson and husband, Joshua Roberts and Gabrielle Gibson; grandchildren, James Fuqua, III, Matthew Brown, Jr, Autumn, Avery and Luna Brown; sisters, Linda Gallo and husband, Ted, and Kay Lawson; brothers, Jay Stewart and wife, Sherri, and Ricky Stewart and wife, Shelia; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rena Stewart.

Faye always had a smile on her face and she enjoyed making everyone around her laugh and have a good time. Faye did not know a stranger and always helped wherever she could. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
