Richard Alan Jeffers, 71, of Gibsonville, went to rest in his heavenly
home on Friday, February 15, 2019, surrounded by his family.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 18, 2019
at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Following the service, the family will gather in the Fellowship Hall
to receive friends and share memories.
Richard was born in Kewanee, IL and was the son of the late Gerald and
Carol Jeffers. He graduated from Bethany High School and briefly
attended college before proudly serving his country in the US Navy.
In 1968, he married the love of his life, Donna Reese, with whom he
made many cherished memories during their 50-year marriage. Richard
had a 33-year career as an electrical technician at BellSouth. In his
younger years, he enjoyed hunting, playing softball and golfing. Most
recently, he enjoyed being the captain of his fishing boat, traveling
with his wife, and spoiling his nine grandchildren. He could often be
found at his grandchildren’s sporting events, telling fish tales with
his buddies, playing poker with his friends, or walking the beaches at
Emerald Isle. Richard will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving
father, doting grandfather, and a great friend to many. Quiet, yet
strong, he was the rock of his family, who will feel his loss greatly.
Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brother,
Stephen Carl Jeffers. He is survived by his wife, Donna Reese
Jeffers; daughters, Amber Register (Mike) and Ashley Vogrinc (Dave);
nine grandchildren, Claire and Collin Register, Elijah, Cadence,
Norah, Zoey, Avila, Ezekiel, and Xavier Vogrinc; sister, Sharon Loftis
(Dennis); mother-in-law, Aileen Reese; sister-in-law, Trish Deaton
(J.R.); and four very special nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to the Sea Tow ocean
services at Emerald Isle, in honor of Arley Reese… prankster ‘til the
end! DAD, WE LOVE YOU!
