Richard Scott Jones

Richard Scott Jones, 67, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Wesley Long Hospital in the arms of his loving wife. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Madison. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Richard was born in Tacoma, Washington and moved to North Carolina when he was a young boy. He retired as a controller with Colonial Pipeline and was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Jones. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Jones of the home; sons, Matthew Scott Jones and girlfriend, Dr. Amanda Moon of Greensboro, Benjamin Gray Jones and wife, Danielle of Climax, NC; daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Nguyen and husband, Mac of Asheboro; grandchildren, Tyler Scott Nguyen, Zachary Gray Nguyen and Hayden Nichole Jones; mother, Elna Allran Jones of Greensboro; brothers, Randy Jones and wife, Deborah of Atlanta, GA, Reed Jones and wife, Sally of Cary, NC.
