Richard "Rick" Royal Moore, Jr.

Richard “Rick” Royal Moore, Jr., 76, of 1072 Vernon Road, went home to be with The Lord, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Kindred Hospital.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Sunnycrest Church. Military Honors will be performed after the service by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.

A native of Lucas County, Ohio, Rick was the son of the late Richard and Marjorie Horner Moore. Rick was in ministry for over 50 years, and it was what gave his life meaning. He was married to Sharon for almost 43 years. They moved to Reidsville in 1996 to serve at Sunnycrest Church, which was by far his happiest years in ministry. Faith and Family were his driving force in life. His greatest joys were sharing the Word of God and watching his family grow and love each other. The void he leaves will always be felt! We will live to glorify God and make him proud. “None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.” Romans 14:7-8

Rick is survived by his wife, Sharon Acre Moore; his children Aaron Richard Franklin Moore and wife Melanie, Nathan Roy Moore and wife Sarah, Rachael Nell Moore Citronnelli and husband Justin; grandchildren Mia, Wren, Sutton, Baylor, Caleb, Emmalyn, Ella, Merida and Willa to come; brother Don Moore; sisters Dayna Lippman, Louise Campbell, and Susie Mears; and a large extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sunnycrest Church, 1583 Freeway Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320.
