Richard Allen Roush

Dr. Richard Allen Roush, 84, of 764 O’Bryant Road, went home to be with The Lord, Friday, October 27, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Chapel with Pastor Abel Mosqueta officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard following the service at the graveside.

Richard was a native of Cleveland, Ohio and was the son of the late John and Letha Roush. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict. Richard served as a commercial truck driver for over 40 years. Throughout his life, he faithfully studied the Word of God and taught Bible prophecy and history. Richard received his ministry license and together he and Edith worked in evangelism ministry for New Heart Ministries for many years. He adored his wife and was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. His compassion and kindness were obvious everywhere he went. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother John Roush and sister Evelyn Jessup.

Richard is survived by his soulmate of 51 years Elizabeth “Edith” Roush; children Jerrie Cooper (William), Harold Miller (Wendy), Christine Moore (Jesse), and Maxine Causey (Bobby); 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; sister Hariet Willick; and a large extended family.
