Richard Rowland Smith

Richard Rowland Smith, 94, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord and his wife on Sunday, August 27, 2023. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Richard was born in Lexington, NC to the late Z. Griff & Mary Smith. He was an electrician for 28 years and was an avid HAM Radio operator. He loved animals and gardening of all types. Richard especially loved traveling with his wife when they retired.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Irma Chrismon Smith; siblings Bob Smith, Ronald Smith, Patricia Smith Cobb and Elenor Smith Wall. He is survived by his son Richard Smith, Jr. and wife Susan Delilah; nieces, Elizabeth Hill, Priscilla Williams and Amelia Benfield and numerous great nephews and nieces.
