Rita Montez Snead

Jacksonville, FL: Rita Gibson Snead, age 51, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Thursday, October 15, 2015. Born October 15, 1964, she was a native of Eden, North Carolina where she attended Morehead High School. She relocated to Brunswick, Georgia where she resided for several years prior to a recent move to Jacksonville, Florida. Rita was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known to have a zest for life and will be remembered for her love of animals, her family, and the Lord. She is survived by her fiancée Johnny Fowler of Jacksonville, Florida; son James Timothy Cassada of Brunswick, Georgia; grandchildren Mackenzie Cassada and Jameson Cassada both of Brunswick, Georgia; her father Roger Wayne Gibson and wife Shirley of Eden, North Carolina; brother Keith Gibson and wife Gerry of Brunswick, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mildred Davis Christman, and brother, Brian Gibson. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Reidlawn Cemetery with Pastor Howard Owens officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 23 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville.
