Rita Miller Whary

Rita Miller Whary, 82, of Reidsville passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

A funeral service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, August 31, at 2:00pm with Rev. Pete Hutchens and Rev. Ronnie Warner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

Rita was born on February 1, 1941, in Rockingham County to the late Robert Johnson Miller and Ora Lee Griffin. She was a devoted mother and loving Mimi to 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and cooking her famous meatballs for her family at Christmas. She was a member of the First Church of The Living God.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Richard “Ricky” Norman.

Rita is survived by her children, Robert Norman (Leslie), Denise Swaim (Danny); daughter-in-law, Linda Norman; grandchildren, Natalie, Justin, Amy, Brandi, Robert Jr., Keith, Weezie, Joey, Ashton, Kyleigh, Christian, Payton, Kaiden; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Robbin Miller (Ollie); nieces, Rene, Angie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MLD Foundation in honor of her great granddaughter, Hope.
