Robert Jackson Allen

Summerfield – Robert Jackson Allen, 70, of 151 Twitty Lane, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Pegram officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.Mr. Allen was born in Rockingham County to the late Richard and Una Ellis Allen and was a retiree of Golden State Foods. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Savannah Allen. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Allen; sons, Richard Allen, LeVan Allen and wife, Julie; daughters, Phyllis Gray and husband, Larry, Evelyn Collins and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Kristy Lawson and husband, Shawn, Tracy Wray and fiance, Barry Cobb, Timothy Gray, Jason Collins and fiance, Natalie Friddle, Hannah Allen and Laura Gray; great grandchildren, Tyler and Cole Wray and Makayla Lawson ; brothers Claude, Thomas and James Allen; sisters, Mildred King, Ruth Moore, Sally Shelton, Hilda Shore, Rachel Dowdy and Sarah Smith. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at Bethany United Methodist Church and other times at the home of Phyllis Gray, 163 Twitty Lane.
