Robert Julian French

Reidsville–Robert Julian French, 80, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Morris Brown and Rev. Jane Brannock officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. French was born in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Charlie and Bessie McKinney French. Robert was an avid coon and rabbit hunter. He had a green thumb with plentiful vegetable and flower gardens. He had a huge heart and made friends with everyone he met. His sense of humor will be missed. He was a retired banker with Wells Fargo (Wachovia). Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Lillian French. Mr. French is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois McAlister French; sister, Brenda Strader (Donnie), Peggy Cassada (Marvin); and brothers: Wilbur French, Lester French (Anne), Jerry French (Ollie) and George French (Gail); Aunt Cassie Vaughn and Uncle Arnold McKinney (Elsie); and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel UMC to help rebuild the church (361 Mt. Carmel Church Rd., Reidsville, NC 27320).
