Reidsville: Robert Frye Isley, 63, of Reidsville left his earthly home to gain a heavenly crown on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. The Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 4:00 P.M. at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Claude Harrelson, Rev. Paul Warrick and Rev. Heath Lloyd officiating. The family will receive friends after the service from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at Bobby and Debbie Haskins home (331 Copperhead Road). A beloved son, brother, husband, father, and “Pop-Pop”, Robert was a fun-loving, God-fearing man with a heart of gold. He loved his church family and strived daily to live for Christ. Robert enjoyed cooking, grilling, baseball and singing in the church choir. He was an active deacon at Baptist Temple Church and a volunteer fireman at Yanceyville Road Volunteer Fire Department. Robert will be remembered fondly as “Coach” to many high-school baseball players where he helped Coach Holcomb for more than 20 years. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Cheryl “Sherry” Davis Isley, daughter Christy Harrelson and husband, Michael; grandchildren, William “Liam” Michael, III, Eva Elizabeth and Lydia Naomi Harrelson whom he cherished and adored. Also surviving are his siblings, Jerry Isley and wife, Pam, Dean Isley and Pam, Joan Isley and Pansy and Richard Isley and wife, Helen; special aunts/sisters, Jean Puckett, Frances Taylor, Linda Hazelwood and a large extended family. Other special family members include Jim and Dottie Talley, Teresa and Sam Phillips, Sharon Talley and Jason Vaughn, Bobby and Debbie Haskins, Dennis and Ann Campbell, Al Davis, Ernie and Patsy Holcomb, Keith and Melanie Isley, Misti Walker, Walter and Pat Hall and Curtis Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Frye and Elizabeth Foulks Isley and his first wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Talley Isley. Memorial Contributions may be made to Baptist Temple Church, Baptist Men, 729 Wentworth Street, Reidsville, NC 27320.
