Reidsville - Robert "Bob" Irvin Gammon, 63, of 1920 Pickrell Road, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, on Friday, October 1 at 2:00 PM.
Internment will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Archie Witty, Henry Crowder, Butch Waller, John Smith, Bryson Knowles and Ernest Pyron. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Hawker, Steve Patzer and William Lovelace.
Mr. Gammon was born in Rockingham County to Geneva Perkins Gammon and the late Irvin Gammon. He was the owner and operator of B & S convenience store. Bob was an avid collector of antique cars and enjoyed collecting and playing guitars. Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Austin Gammon and friend, Wayne Bailey.
Mr. Gammon is survived by his daughters, June King of Reidsville and Bobbie Joanne Cole, of Randleman; grandchildren, Cheyene Corum, Joshua Corum, Dalayna Nichole King and Tyler Collier; mother, Geneva Perkins Gammon; sisters, Rosemary Gammon East of Reidsville and Elva Marlowe, of Houston, Texas.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 7 to 9 PM and other times at the residence.
The family would like thank all the friends and neighbors for their support and prayers. They also would like to say a special thanks to Bob's special friends, Carol Knowles, Henry Crowder, Robert Hawkins, Butch Waller and Ernest Pyron.
