Robert Jackson Hudson

Reidsville – Robert Jackson Hudson, Jr., 87, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at Greensboro Place.A graveside memorial service will be held in Greenview Cemetery on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 3:00 PM with Dr. Charles Hutchens officiating.Mr. Hudson was born in Rockingham County to the late Robert Jackson Hudson, Sr. and Ada Sue Hopper Hudson. Robert was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII and was radio navigation trainer to Army pilots. He was a member of DAV Chapter 23 and a member of the VFW. Robert was a sergeant with the Reidsville Police Dept. serving for 23 years and later retired as a Magistrate for the State of NC.Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie G. Hudson.Survivors include his sons, Paul Hudson and wife, Sharon of Williamsburg, VA. and David Hudson and wife, Donna of Reidsville; grandchildren, Matt Hudson and wife, Kelly and Davvon Childress and great-grandchild, Kody Childress. There will not be a formal visitation. The family will receive friends at the home of the son, David Hudson, 115 Forest Lake Tr., Reidsville (Country Park Subdivision).Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Main Street United Methodist Church, 221 South Main Street, Reidsville, NC 27320.
