Yanceyville, NC – Robert Battle “R.B.” Johnson, Jr., 73, of 1505 Boy Scout Camp Road passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Tuck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Charles ”Butch” Curtis, Bob Heider, Tommy Johnson and Curt Johnson , Earl Johnson ,Wesley Strader and Adam Strader. R.B. was born in Rowland, NC to the late Robert Battle Johnson, Sr. and Virgie Holder Johnson. He retired from Golden Belt Manufacturing Company with 36 years service and was a member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, golf and fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Brenda, David, and Kenneth Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Linda Willis Johnson of the home; his children, Scotty Lee Johnson, Robert Anthony Johnson and Tracy Lynn Strader; grandchildren, Wesley, Adam, Lyndsey, Claire and Landon Strader; sisters, Mary Stephenson, Louise Tyler Turner (Chester), Nettie Cox, Betty Hall, Carol Heider (Bob), Linda West (Dean) and Pam Long; brothers, Billy Johnson (Rhonda), Tommy Johnson (Betty Jean), Earl Johnson (Patricia), Larry Johnson (Joyce) and Curt Johnson (Janie) and special companion, Marley. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice Care Center of Alamance/Caswell and caregivers, Linda West, Joyce Johnson and Pam Long.
