Robert Morris Margolis

Robert M. Margolis born in 1955 passed away on October 11, 2023. He is survived by his wife Vickie Margolis, son Christopher Margolis, daughter Jacqueline Brown, son-in-law David Brown and four grandsons, Lucas, Logan, Leo and Lincoln, his sister, Lana Halbert and many nieces and nephews.

Bob came to California with his family from Chicago as a baby. They settled in Lawndale, CA where he grew up and went to Leuzinger High School. At 15 he began working in his father’s Blanchard Grinding shop that he later took over when his father retired.  

He married Vickie in 1980 and they raised their 2 children, Chris and Jackie. He is remembered as a great father, who worked hard to provide for his family and he included them in everything he did. Bob loved traveling in his RV, boating, camping, and running his homemade sand rail in the California sand dunes. He was knowledgeable in all of it and always shared that knowledge with anyone who inquired. He loved to tinker with anything mechanical. Bob had a plethora of friends in the dog show arena, in business, and was ready to help those who were lucky enough to have met his acquaintance and become his friend. Bob’s desire to learn and know all the obedience rules and how they applied led to encouragement from the Fulkersons for him to apply to judge. He became one of the most knowledgeable and respected Obedience Judge’s in the country. He honed his knowledge and judging skills at practice nights with some of the top trainers and handlers in California.  

Bob had recently closed his Blanchard grinding business, retired and they relocated to North Carolina just a few months ago. He simply loved it there, and was looking forward to new adventures. 

Bob left us rich in love, family, and friends. His laugh, smile, teasing, and generosity to his friends and family were something we all loved and will be remembered. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at their home in North Carolina later in the Spring of 2024.
