Reidsville: Robert D. “Pete” Paschal, Sr., 78, of 9700 NC 87, passed surrounded by his loving family on April 20, 2014 at Avante Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Moretz and Rev. Herb McClintock officiating. The burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Paschal was a native of Rockingham County and was the son of the late Jesse C. and Gladys McCollum Paschal. He was employed with Madison Throwing, MacField and finally, he retired from Unifi as Corporate Engineer. He was the patriarch of the Paschal family since the death of his father in the 70’s. He was there to help guide, inspire and listen whenever any of his family needed him. He was adored by his grandchildren and his great grandchildren were the latest loves of his life. There was nowhere else he would rather be that with his loving, growing family. He was one of the founding members of Deep Springs Country Club, where he spent many hours playing golf. He also loved the farm and gardening. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, J.C. Paschal, Clarence “Pat” Paschal, J.P. Paschal and Charles Paschal; sisters, Dale P. Quackenbush and Carol P. Dillard.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Quackenbush Paschal of the home; his children, Robert Dennis Paschal, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Wentworth and Kathy Paschal McBride and husband, Randy of Wilmington; grandchildren, Robert Dennis Paschal, III, Jessica Paschal Meador and husband, Colby, Joey Paschal and wife, Katie, Katie McBride Parker and husband, Aaron, and Hunter McBride and wife, Brittany; great grandchildren, Jayce Paschal, Conner and Cameron McBride and Addie Grey Parker; brothers, Eddie Paschal of Albemarle, NC, John Paschal and wife, Gracie of Eden, NC, Dewey Paschal and wife, Betty of Reidsville and Dalton Paschal and wife, Nell of Georgetown, SC; sister, June P. Purcell of Reidsville; sister-in-law, Frances Paschal of Stoneville, NC; brother-in-law, Hurley Quackenbush and wife, Kathleen; special niece, Sharon Quackenbush Roberts and husband, Randy and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 22 from 6:00 - 8:00PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
