Robert Leland Snow

Reidsville - Robert Leland Snow, 85, of 2108 Richardson Drive, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Avante at Reidsville.A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Hutchins officiating.Mr. Snow was born in Rockingham County to the late John and Ruth Ferguson Snow and was a retired farmer. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War and drove an ambulance with the MASH unit. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, a former Volunteer Fireman and was an active member of the Moose and many other civic organizations. He also was a former employee of Kiker & Yount and helped build the Blue Ridge Parkway. A few of the places Mr. Snow enjoyed the food and fellowship included Short Sugars, Reid House and the Sanitary Café. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Reid Snow; brother, James Snow and sister, Betty Snow McAlister. Survivors include his sister, Alice Snow Strickland and eleven nieces and nephews that cared greatly for their uncle.There will be no formal visitation.Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street Methodist United Church, 221 South Main Street, Reidsville, NC 27320.
