Roger Dale Branon

Roger Dale “Fatz” Branon, 55, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, January 18, 2019 at Straightway Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Bledsole officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Roger was born in Forsyth County to the late William Kenneth and Carolyn Shields Branon. He worked with North Carolina Department of Transportation for 19 years. He loved racing and was either a driver or a crew member for over 20 years; he just loved being at the race track especially Ace Speedway. He gave his time as a volunteer fire fighter in both Rockingham and Caswell Counties. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Edna Cannon Branon as well as his sister, Beverly Jean Branon. Survivors include his son, Christopher Cannon (Michelle); daughter, Nicole Branon Gravley (Chris); grandchildren, Alexis and Elizabeth Gravley; siblings, Mike Branon, Suzie Wright (Richard) along with a large extended family.
