Roger Lee Southard

Pelham: Roger Lee Southard, 69, of 178 Bowes Street, passed away May 12, 2014 at his home. A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 16 at Lively Stones Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Kent officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Roger was born in Rockingham County to the late William Paul and Mary Jane Southard. He worked as a carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed gardening and building things. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, David Wayne Southard and his half brother, Barry Southard. He is survived by his sons, Roger Dale Southard and Vance Southard and wife, Wendy all of Madison and Shane Southard of Reidsville; seven grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, Wayne Southard and wife, Rosemary and Larry Southard and wife, Linda all of Pelham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
