Ronald Bruce Hunter, 70, passed away quietly Sunday, February 11, 2018 at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Hope River Church with Military Honors with Rev. Larry Pope officiating. At other times, the family will be at the home in McLeansville.
Ron was born May 19, 1947 in Durham, NC to the late David Roosevelt Hunter and Elsie Dennis Hunter. He loved life and was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard as a military policeman. Ron was previously employed by Gate City Motors as a glass installer and Moses Cone as a security guard. He was also an EMT-fire fighter in Guilford County. Ron was a jack-of-all-trades especially working on cars and always enjoyed having grandkids come around. He loved his church family at Brown Wesleyan and Emmanuel Wesleyan Church.
Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Joshua Prevost and his daughter, Tammy Renee Hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Randy Sue Short Hunter of the home; sons: Ronnie Hunter Jr. and wife, Melanie of Randleman, David Ashburn Hunter and girlfriend Jennifer Bennett of Thomasville, Clinton James John Prevost and wife, Angela of Siler City, and Paul Randolph Prevost of McLeansville; daughter, Dorothy Amanda Downs and husband, Jerome of Colorado; ten grandchildren; brother, David Hunter and wife, Kay of McLeansville; sisters: Denise Fisher of Siler City and Debbie McNamara and husband, Bruce of Siler City; and very special friends of the family, Cleo Lowe and Dona Zimmerman and husband, David.
