Ronald Earl McCollum

Madison: Mr. Ronald E. McCollum, Sr., 69, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 at his home. Mr. McCollum was born on April 18th, 1944 in Rockingham County to Earl and Louise Dye McCollum. He was a 1962 graduate of Wentworth High School and a graduate of the North Carolina State University Ag Institute. After working several years at the University, he returned to the family farm. He was an active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, a loving husband, father and son. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl McCollum. Survivors include his wife, Joann M. McCollum of the home; his son, Ronald E. McCollum, Jr. and wife Sally of Raleigh; his daughter, Megan McCollum of Madison; his mother, Louise McCollum of Madison; his sister, Shearl Hardison and husband, Clif of Williamston; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock on Thursday, January 2nd, 2013 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the McCollum Farm. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
