Ronald "Ronnie" Jay Handy

Reidsville : Ronald “Ronnie” Jay Handy, 67, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Beau Cooksey officiating. Ronnie was born on October 26, 1949, in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Samuel Edward Handy and Ruth Gammon Howell. He graduated from Ruffin High School in 1968 where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He received his Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in 1972. He retired from Burlington Industries and also from Reidsville Nissan. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his sons, Craig Handy and wife Julie and Chris Handy and wife Katie; his grandson, Tyler; his brothers, Samuel Eddie Handy, Terry Howell, Steve Howell and Danny Howell, and his granddogs, Bubba, Remi and Daisy. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, March 31, 2017, at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
