Ronnie Lee McDaniel

Reidsville – Ronnie Leon McDaniel. 60, of 253 Penn Lake Drive, died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at a later date at Vance Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Wagoner officiating. The burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Mr. McDaniel was born in Rockingham County to the late Paul Lewis McDaniel, Sr. and Ruth Evans McDaniel. He was retired from the City of Reidsville where he served as the street and line supervisor. He was an avid sportsman, especially hunting and fishing. He was dedicated to his work, but most importantly his family. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Ronnie McDaniel, Jr. Cherishing his memory, he is survived by his wife, Darnell Rose McDaniel of the home; his son, Doyle McDaniel and Jamie of the home; grandchildren, Beth McDaniel and Aaron Williams; brothers, Paul McDaniel, Jr. and wife, Jeanette, Bobby McDaniel and wife, Reavell and James McDaniel and wife, Joyce all of Reidsville; sisters, Sylvia Mosser and husband, Terry of Reidsville and Bettie Emerson and husband, Wayne of Pelham and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7:00-9:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. McGough, Dr. Niejstrom, Annie Penn Cancer Center, Hospice of Rockingham County and the many acts of kindness from countless family members and friends during his illness.
