Roxie Ann Billings Strader

Ruffin - Roxie Ann Billings Strader, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 23, 2012 at her home.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thomas Solomon officiating Interment will follow the service in the Danview cemetery.Mrs. Strader was a native of Rockingham County, born on March 10, 1925 to the late Dorsey Robert and Mary Bell Reynolds Billings. She was a faithful member at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church. Roxie was an active member of the Happy Home Home Demonstration Club and Widow's for Christ at Spray Baptist Church. Although Roxie and her beloved husband never had any children, they treated their nieces and nephews as their own. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Ira G. "Pete" Strader; brothers, Arthur Thomas, and Franklin Billings.She is survived by sisters-in-law, Lorine Tate and Opal Strader; brother-in-law, Numa Reid Strader, Sr., and numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; Caregivers: Willie and Alma Ward, Vern and Dorothy Pruitt, Frances Willis, Lois Gunn, Chuck and Tammie Stophel; extended host of many friends and church family.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.Memorial contributions may be made in Roxie's name to either Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Fund; C/O John Collie, 1620 Hampton Road; Reidsville, North Carolina 27320 or to Hospice Home of Rockingham County, P.O.
