Roy Lee Davis

Reidsville - Roy Lee Davis, 81, of 912 Wilson Street, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 14 at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Tuck officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Garden.Mr. Davis was born to the late Charlie and Vanza Davis. He retired from the US Air Force after 21 years and also a truck driver for 27 years. Roy was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. He was known as a hardworking man that would always lend a hand to help someone. Roy loved his church and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Davis, Jr.; sister, Lettie Mae Davis; half-brothers, James Langley, Rev Jack Langley, and Rev. Robert Langley.Roy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dixie of the home; sons, Anthony L. Davis of Yanceyville and Steven Roy Davis and wife, Paulette of Stoneville; grandchildren, Tonya, Stephanie, T.J., Adam, Steven, Roxann, Erika, and Jon; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Smith and special friend, Sonny Hash.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, March 13 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the home.In loving memory the family wishes to express their thanks to all the members of their Lawsonville Road Baptist Church family, Friends, and devoted family for the kind words and loving prayers.
