Roy Alfred Rumbley

Reidsville – Roy Alfred Rumbley, 86, of 305 Linden Road died Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 11, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Warner officiating. The interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mr. Rumbley was born in Rockingham County, NC to the late Porter and Betty Jane Woods Rumbley. He was retired from the American Tobacco Company after 40 years of service. Previously, he was a member of Community Baptist Church and was most recently a faithful and active member of Freedom Baptist Church. He was a man of faith and taught Sunday school for many years. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Wyrick and Myrtle Jefferson. Mr. Rumbley is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marion Ruth Saunders Rumbley of the home; his sister, Loraine Smith of Danville, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 10 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
