Roy Thomas Stone

Reidsville - Roy Thomas Stone, 90, died on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Avante of Reidsville.A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM , Friday, September 16, 2011 at Reidlawn Cemetery. Roy was born in Rockingham County to the late Sam and Georgie Stone. He was of the Baptist faith and was a tobacco farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first and second wife, Nannie Stone and Murial Stone; and grandchild, Larry Stone; brothers, Odell, Herbert,Rubin and Sam Stone, Jr.; sisters, Clara Kennon, Estelle Justice, Etta Pennell and Maybelle Stone. He is survived by his son, Jeffery Stone of Reidsville; grandchildren, Dot , Peggy, Barry and Mike Stone; niece, Wendy Jeffries and husband, T.J. of Ruffin.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 15th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of T.J. and Wendy Jeffries, 1979 Oregon Hill Road, Ruffin.The family would like to thank the staff at Avante of Reidsville for their thoughtful and caring service.
