Ruby Turner Brown

Reidsville – Ruby Turner Brown, 93 of 1014 Elm Street, passed away, Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Robertson officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 PM at the church and other times at the home. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Brown was born in Redwood, Virginia to the late Ulysses W. and Bertha Blankenship Turner. She was a retiree of Cone Mills and a life long member of Calvary Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Brown; a sister, Carnell Turner Mansfield; brothers, Posey, Leonard, Levi and Michael Turner. Survivors include her children, Donald K. Brown and R. Wayne Brown; daughter, Frances Brown Chatmon; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; sister Shirley Turner Wall and special friend, Tim Turman. The family wishes to thank Dr. Hawkins and his staff and the ICU unit at Annie Penn Hospital for the care given to Mrs. Brown.
