Ruby Prince Duckett

(Warrenton, NC): Mrs. Ruby Mae Prince Duckett of Warren Hills Nursing Center went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 following a brief illness. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville, NC with the Rev. Don Forrester officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 11:00-12:00 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville and at other times at the home of Carlotta Duckett Stone. Mrs. Duckett was born to Clarence Lancaster Prince and Maggie Lee Hollifield Prince on May 15, 1924 in Tryon, North Carolina. She was married to William Paul Duckett on Christmas Day, 1942 and was preceded by him in death in 2006. In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Woodrow and Edward Prince and a son, Stephen Douglas Duckett. Mrs. Duckett is survived by one daughter, Carlotta Duckett Stone (Kenneth, deceased) of Reidsville, NC, and three sons, William Paul, Jr. (Margie) of Littleton, NC; James Andrew (Ann) of Louisburg, NC; and David Thomas (Sue) of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by brothers Herman Prince (Callie) of Spindale, NC; Jack Prince (Cris) of Nebo, NC; William Prince (Helen) of Rutherfordton, NC, Robert Prince (Cecilia) of Prineville, OR; sister Mildred Prince of Campbellsville, KY; and daughter-in-law Lisa Feinberg Duckett of Salamanca, NY. Additionally, Mrs. Duckett leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Jeff Hale (Linda), Eden, NC; Cindy Stone, Eden, NC; Brian Stone (Amy), Madison, NC; Lisa Harrell (Rob), Charlotte, NC; Jayson Duckett, Atlanta, GA; Timmy Webb (Kari), Rocky Mount, NC; Evan Duckett, Buffalo, NY; Ben Duckett (Gina), Greensboro, NC; Jessica Williams (Matt), Wake Forest, NC; Kelly Walker, San Francisco, CA; Beth Walker, Raleigh, NC; John Walker, Durham, NC; Mark Walker, Raleigh, NC; Amanda Smith (David), Raleigh, NC; and Hannah Smith (Daniel), Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Duckett loved her Lord, her husband, her children and their families, selling Avon, and like her mother, growing flowers. Her family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of Liberty Home Care and Hospice Services, Warren Hills Nursing Center and Mariah Parham Hospital of Henderson, NC for their professionalism and compassion in attending to Mrs. Duckett during her final days.
