Ruby Manley Harrison

Reidsville - Ruby Manley Harrison, 90, of 620 Vaughn Road, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Mizpah United Methodist Church with Rev Thomas Goode and Rev Fred Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Harrison was born in Rockingham County to the late Luther and Addie Vaughn Manley. She retired from the Creighton Shirt Factory as a sewer. Ruby was of the Methodist faith and a faithful member of the Mizpah United Methodist Church. She was a loving and caring person that lived life to the fullest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Lee Harrison; son, George "Al" Harrison and brother, Willie Manley. Ruby is survived by her granddaughter, Melissa "Missy" Harrison Preston and husband, Scott of Reidsville; great-grandchildren, Noah and Luke Preston; niece, Donna "Pete" Phelps and nephews, Nicky Manley and wife, Debbie and Darrell Harrison. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral home on Wednesday, July 22nd from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mizpah UMC Building Fund, 733 Mizpah Church Road, Reidsville North Carolina, 27320.
