Ruby Louise Vernon Moore

Ruby Louise Vernon Moore, 88, of Reidsville passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Evergreen Memory Gardens officiated by Rev. Ralph Clayton. The family will receive friends at Ruby's home.

Ruby was born in Rockingham County to the late Otis Lee Vernon and Willie Elmer Brown. She was a longtime member of Sharon Baptist Church. Ruby graduated from Bethany High School with the class of 1954. She enjoyed gardening and home making. Most of all she loved her family, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband of 33 years, Robert “Rabbit” L. Moore; Siblings, Otis Vernon Jr., Carl Vernon, Grace Jeffreys, Nancy Loftis.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Rhonda L. Moore; sister, Martha McCollum (Robert); brothers-in-law, John Cecil Moore and Paul London; numerous nieces, nephews and a large and loving extended family.

The family would like to especially thank her loving sister, caretaker, and loyal friend, Martha McCollum, as well as the Penn Center, the staff at The Landing of Rockingham for their outstanding care of Ruby.
