Burlington– Ruby Totten Perkins, 90, of 6728 A Pagetown Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at UNC Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Donald Smith, Pastor Chuck Perkins and Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Caswell County to the late Currie and Ella Ward Totten. She was a retiree of Kayser Roth and after retirement worked at Belks in the Pennrose Mall. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed faithfully watching Dr. Charles Stanley each Sunday morning. Mrs. Perkins was the heart and soul of her family and will be greatly missed by all of them. She loved flowers and gardening. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Winston Perkins of 70 years; grandson, Lee Mabe; brothers, Dwight, JB and Owen Totten; sister, Frances Cobb.
Survivors include her children, Martha Mabe Neibel, Charles Winston Perkins and wife, Nancy, Judy Perkins Smith, Harold Wayne Perkins and wife, Christine and Karen Perkins Hall and husband, Jeff; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sister Nancy Cobb.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1-2 PM, one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
