Ruby Doss Scearce

Reidsville: Ruby Doss Scearce, 83, formerly of 8092 US Hwy 158, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, January 25, 2010 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. The burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Scearce was born in Rockingham County to the late Tony and Zula Holland Doss. She retired from Burlington Industries and was a longtime and faithful member of First Congregational Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Scearce; her sister, Hilda Loye; and her brothers, J.T. Doss and Paul Doss. She is survived by her son, Ken Scearce and wife, Betty of Reidsville; her daughters, Nancy Fox and husband, David of Raleigh and Linda Apple of Reidsville; grandchildren, Matthew Scearce, Kristi Scearce, Tabetha DeLancey and husband, Wayne, Jennifer Harrell and husband, Chip, and Kenny Fox and wife, Heather; great grandson, Caleb DeLancey; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
