Ruby Wylene Smithey

Greensboro:  Ruby Wylene Smithey, 83, of 5833 Carla Lane, died Friday, June 13, 2008 at her residence.   Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 15, 2008 in Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. Miss Smithey was born July 20, 1924, in Gibsonville, North Carolina to the late Alfred Jackson Smithey, Sr. and Grace Loy Smithey. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Edna Ruth Smithey and two bothers, A.J. Smithey, Jr. and Ralph Edward Smithey. She is survived by two nephews, one niece and one sister-in-law. Miss Smithey was a graduate of Rankin High School class of 1941 and McClung’s Business College. She was formerly employed with Rustin Furniture Company, Brownhill’s Ladies Apparel, Justice Wholesale Drug Company and retired after 23 years from the Guilford County Department of Social Services.
