Rufus Elworth Durham

Reidsville: Rufus Elworth Durham, 78, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, at his home. Graveside funeral services will be held at Reidlawn Cemetery on Monday, March 16, 2015, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Clifton Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 6-8 PM, at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Mr. Durham was born on June 30, 1936, in Rockingham County to the late Rufus Monroe and Mary Frances Durham. He was a farmer in Rockingham County all of his life. He was a member of Reidsville Church of God. He married Polly on October 18, 1958, in Ruffin, NC. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Elworth Durham, a brother, Rex Michael Durham and a sister, Evelyn Pruitt. Survivors include his wife, Polly Durham; his sons, Darrell Keith Durham and wife Kelly, Robert Lee Durham and wife Tabby and William Allen Durham; his grandchildren, Macey Durham, Brianna Proctor, Hannah Durham, Cheyene Durham, Andrew Durham, Abigale Durham, Alana Durham, William Durham, Jr. and Kaleb Durham, his sister, Jeanette Swing and husband R.L, three nephews and four nieces. Memorial contributions may be made to Reidsville Church of God or to Hospice of Rockingham County.
