Reidsville - Rufus "Earl" Taylor, 90, of 701 Cedar Lane, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 9, 2012 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Puryear officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.Earl was born in Scott County, Va. to the late James Worley and Sarah Elizabeth Taylor and was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was the former owner-operator of Friendly Lunch Café and a member of Penn Memorial Baptist Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Mae Taylor; grandson, Keith Murray; brothers, Henry, Echol and Sam Taylor; sisters, Lola Belmany, Rachel Taylor and Lizzie Hill.Survivors include his daughters, Linda Pendergraph and husband, Tony and Debi Pike and husband, Mitch; son, Jeff Smith and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Mark Smith and wife, Debbie, Sarah Manning and husband, Jason and Adam Pike; four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and sister, Rexie Niro.There will be no formal visitation but the family will be at Linda's home on Friday and Saturday, 2202 Richardson Drive, Reidsville.Memorial may be made to Penn Memorial Baptist Church, 2029 Freeway Drive, Reidsville, North Carolina 27320. . .
