Russell Lee Dockery

Reidsville - Russell Lee Dockery, 62, of 2101 S. Scales Street Apt. 12A, passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2009 at Guilford Memorial Park with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Mr. Dockery was born in Rockingham County to the late Ernest and Myrtle Alderman Dockery. He was a carpenter by trade. He loved building houses and anything dealing with his hands. Russell enjoyed being with his family and was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Dockery and Jimmy "Bo" Dockery and brother-in-law, David Benfield. Survivors include his loving wife, Glenda of the home; daughters, Angel Wall and Jennifer Miller and husband, Mike both of Reidsville; grandchildren, Kallan and Joseph Lee Powell and Kairi Miller; sisters, Nancy Benfield and Geneva Pruitt and husband, Gay; sister-in-law, Ruby Dockery and many more extended family. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Thursday, September 17 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and other times at the home.
