Ruth Burke Comer

Browns Summit: Ruth Burke Comer, 77, of 7855 Highway 150 East, died on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington. Ruth was born in Alamance County to the late Thomas Jefferson Burke and Isabella Poteat Burke. She was a member of Brown Wesleyan Church and retired from Unifi. She loved gardening, flowers and crocheting. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry K. Comer of the home; children, Darrell Comer of Browns Summit, Mary Petty and husband, Mike of Burlington, Janet Fonville and husband, Eddie of Greensboro, Carolyn Adkins of Browns Summit; grandchildren, Jamie Comer, Christopher Petty, David Bone, Randi Jeffries and Caroline Blackburn; great grandchildren, Konner Cobb, Wesley Bone, Jacob Bone and D.J. Jeffries; brother, Sam Burke and wife, Pat of Burlington. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 1:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service.
