Ruth Saunders Cross

Reidsville - Ruth Saunders Cross, 75, of the Brian Center of Eden, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012.A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Templeton officiating. Interment will follow in Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.Ruth was born in Rockingham County on September 7, 1936 to the late Isaac Fields and Marjorie Burgess Saunders. She was of the Baptist faith. Ruth was a loving mother and loved her family dearly but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil Cross; son, Gary Cross and brother, Frank Saunders.Ruth is survived by her sons, Michael Cross and wife, Margie of Reidsville NC, Mark Cross and wife, Jackie of Jacksonville, FL, and Douglas Cross and wife, Margaret of Lakewood, CA; daughter, Susan Mitchell of Reidsville, NC; Eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and brother, Aubrey Saunders and wife, Nellie of Reidsville, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM on Sunday, July 29 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the son, Michael's home; 486 Berrymore Rd., Reidsville.The family wishes to thank the staff of the Brian Center and especially the 500 Hall for the special care they showed toward, Ruth during her stay.
