Ruth Johnson Stallings

Reidsville – Ruth Johnson Stallings, 91, of 1501 Courtland Ave., died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, 2:00 PM at Reidlawn Cemetery with Dr. Charles Hutchens officiating. Mrs. Stallings was born in Rockingham County to the late James E. Johnson and Eva Carroll Murray. She was retired from Sears after 30 years of service. She was a longtime member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Jack” Stallings; her sister, Dorothy Jones; and son-in-law, Johnny Apple. Mrs. Stallings is survived by her daughters, Barbara Stallings Barefoot and husband, Larry and Judy Stallings Apple all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Jay Barefoot and wife, Holly of Hickory and Josh Apple and wife, Brianna of Raleigh; great granddaughter, Lula Barefoot and beloved dog, Cricket. There will be no formal visitation but the family will be receiving friends at Judy Apple’s home, 1205 Morgan Drive.
