Reidsville: Ruthie Lee Joyce Carter, 100, of 2029 Narrow Gauge Road went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Full Gospel Church, 231 Narrow Gauge Road, Reidsville with Pastor Irish Dickerson and Pastor Fred Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Glenn’s Chapel Cemetery in Stoneville. Ruthie Lee was born in Stoneville, NC to the late Thomas and Virginia Cardwell Joyce. She was called into the ministry as a young woman and throughout her life, she diligently studied her Bible and was a faithful member of The Full Gospel Church. She was a gifted musician and could play most any instrument. She loved the outdoors working beside her husband on the farm for many years. In addition to her parents, Ruthie Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Thomas Carter; sons, Jess Wesley Carter and Paul Irvin Carter; 4 brothers, 7 sisters; and great grandson, Caleb Russell Paynter. She is survived by her children, Catherine Perdue and husband, Russell, Ruby Pinnix and husband, Melvin, Fred Carter and wife, Debbie, Irish Dickerson and husband, Gary; all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Shonda Pulliam and husband, Mike, Saprina Pulliam and husband, Scott, Teresa Joyce and husband, Arnold, Lonnie Pinnix, Donnie Pinnix and wife, Shannon, Melisa Everhart and husband, Richie, Jennifer Paynter and husband, Brandon, Wesley Carter and wife, Krystal, Timothy Carter and wife, Sommer, Stacey Price and husband, David, L.G. Dickerson and wife, Carye; 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, August 5th at The Full Gospel Church and other times at the residence.
