Sadie Lillard Carter

Ruffin- Sadie Lillard Carter, 96, of 1110 Guerrant Springs Road, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011 at her home.Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, December 26, 2011 at Happy Home Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Bruce McBride officiating. The family will see friends following the service in the fellowship hall.Mrs. Carter was born in Rockingham County to the late Oscar Fletcher and Ella Martin Lillard and was a former employee of the Rockingham County School System. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton P. Carter; son, Ronald C. Carter, Sr.; grandson, Jason H. Page and great granddaughter, Brianna Claire Carter; brothers, John Henry Lillard, James Oscar Lillard and Willie H. Lillard; sisters, Julia L. James, Lelia L. Chrismon and Irene Scott Minter. ..Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Page and husband, Hunter; grandchildren, Matt Page and wife, Catherine, Ronnie Carter and wife, Jocelyn and John Rogers and wife, Jennifer and seven great grandchildren.
