Sallie Hubbard Smith

Reidsville, NC – Sallie “Odessa” Hubbard Smith, 91, of 3921 NC Hwy 65, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Hospice House of Rockingham County. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Pastor Mike Marshall officiating. Mrs. Smith was born in Rockingham County to the late, Sam and Sallie Jones Hubbard. She loved working in the garden and was an avid fisherman. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Smith; sisters, Ruth Sharpe Young and Bessie H. Wall; brothers, Frank and Earl Hubbard. Odessa is survived by her son, Sammy Fulp and wife, Orenda of Reidsville; grandchildren, Penny F. Quarles and husband, Tripp and Crystal F. Durham and husband, Marc; great grandchildren, Holly and Hannah Grogan and Randy and Angel Durham; sister, Velma H. Brame, numerous nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Maurine Hubbard Joyce. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 11, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
