Sally "Memaw" Stanley Rickman

Sally “Memaw” Stanley Rickman, 83, went home to be with The Lord and is celebrating Thanksgiving with her loved ones that went on before her on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

A graveside service will be held 4:00 PM, Friday, November 26, 2021, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Pastor Bill McKinney officiating. Mrs. Rickman will be available for viewing to the public on Friday from Noon till 2:30 PM. There will be no formal visitation.

Memaw is a native of Rockingham County and the daughter of the late James and Cora Stephens Stanley. She was a longtime and faithful member of Christian Fellowship Church. Over the years, she wrote many cards of encouragement for all occasions to visitors and members of the church. Memaw was the owner/operator of Rickman’s Beauty Shop for over 40 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Rickman, Sr.; son Mitchell Rickman; brothers James and John Stanley; and sister Peggy Rickman.

Memaw is survived by her children Paul Rickman, Jr and wife Susan, Corleah Rickman and fiancé Stephen Bates, Ruby Hutchens and husband Butch and Ray Rickman; grandchildren Heather Butler and husband Billy, Chris Rickman and wife Michelle, Andrew “Paul” Minton-Smith and wife Ashley, Jessica Smith and Jordan Young, James Hutchens and wife Amber, Samantha Hutchens and Ashley Rickman; great grandchildren Alexis, Hannah, Kyra, Joey, Alainna, Lucas, Gabe, Aeria, Laoina, Cindy, Kathryn and Naudia; sister Sylvia Robertson Young; and a large extended family.
