Samuel Earl Ellington

Eden-Samuel Earl Ellington, 79, of 1559 Hamilton Road, 79, passed away at his residence.Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. December 10, 2011 at Mount Carmel United Church. The burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. John Stein and Allen Mabe officiating. Pallbearers will be Darian Ellington, Daryl Ellington, Jackie Ellington, Travis Ellington, Eric Ellington, Wayne Ellington and Chris Roberts.Mr. Ellington was born on January 16, 1932 to the late Jeff C. and Mae Page Ellington. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955, when he returned home and helped farm the family farm. He loved to bowl and pitch horse shoes. He attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church his entire life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death of his half brothers, Woodrow "Woody" Ellington and wife, Lettie Page Ellington, Paul "Pick" Ellington and wife, Addie Tate Ellington, half- sisters, Jettie Ellington Page (Hubert), Ruby Ellington Page (Jett), half sister-in-law, Etta French Ellington, brother Jack C. Ellington (Rosa Travis)He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Sue Haynes Ellington, of the home, sons, Bruce Ellington and wife Flora of Eden, Barry Ellington and wife, Elizabeth of Ruffin, Jeff Ellington of Reidsville and Blake Ellington of Eden; brother, James Ellington and wife, Betty Carol Tate of Reidsville, half brother, Edgar Ellington of Reidsville; grandchildren, Eric Ellington, Travis Ellington, Joshua Ellington, Jessica Ellington, Katie Ellington; step grandchildren Chris McAlister, Deanna Roberts, Chris Roberts, Victoria Burnett and Zack Burnett and 4 great-grandchildrenThe family will receive friends on Friday, December 9, 2011, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and other times at the residenceMemorial contributions may be made to Mt.
